Helpful Hints:

Are you setting up activities or perhaps a one off event for members of the local community?

Are you thinking of providing crèche provision for parents/carers?

If the answer is YES then this section is for you.

We understand there are so many elements to organising your activities/event. If crèche is an integral part then follow our simple 5 step guide to ensure success.

• Availability….Crèche comes first.
Contact Eduplay at the earliest point. We can let you know our availability, and discuss your initial idea’s. In the past, our customers would overlook booking the crèche until the last minute, only to discover we were unavailable on the date they required our service.

Venue selection.
You probably have a venue in mind, which will be ideal for running your event/activities in. However is there suitable space for the crèche to operate in? We will deal directly with a contact person at the venue, to make arrangements, to carry out a thorough venue and risk assessment. Remember the crèche needs to be warm, well decorated, with ample space for the children to play safely and easy access to toilet facilities.

Qualifications of crèche workers.
It is essential that at least one crèche worker has a minimum level 2 childcare qualification. When there are more than 2 workers required, qualified staff must always take precedence over unqualified staff. The Eduplay service ensures that the above requirements are met.

• Staff to child ratios.
The number of crèche places offered will be determined by the space available; however there is a strict adult to child ratio that must be followed. It is important to have a minimum of 2 workers present when delivering crèche, even when only one child attends.
Under 2 years 1: 3 2 to 3 years 1:4 3 to 8 years 1:8

• Equipment and Resources.
It is essential to offer a variety of toys, games and fun activities which are planned to meet individual needs of children attending crèche. Eduplay have a wide selection of resources and equipment to enhance children’s play and learning development.
